Lottery Awards

Since their inauguration in 2005, HooARA’s short mat bowls section have been using second hand mats. Now, following a successful application to the ‘Lottery Awards For All, the club has celebrated the arrival of two new mats and bowling equipment.

The Grand Opening Event took place at Hoo Village Hall in July. Club Secretary, Jim Cooper, welcomed everyone, especially Symone Krista (Medway Council Funding Officer) He thanked both Jean Lloyd (the then club treasurer) and Symone for their efforts in submitting what proved to be a successful application. The club have now extended their bowling sessions to afternoons as well as evenings.
